Akash - Live Indian Flute And Tabla Performance We play at weddings, ceremonies or any special occasions. We created a beautiful fusion of South and North Indian classical styles incorporating South Indian Carnatic flute and North Indian Tabla drums. We play a selection of ragams displaying the beautiful and enchanting moods of traditional Carnatic songs and compositions. Lucy Hudson plays flute in the South Indian style and Marc Clayton plays tabla in the North Indian style. Both have studied the compositions of these disciplines and have created a set which combines elements from both. They have enjoyed playing as a duo since 2011 at a variety of events and concerts. The set can be anything up to 100 minutes long. Much of the music is light and playful with an occasional heavyweight piece such as the ragam medley, Ranjani which explores many different musical themes. We can also add North Indian ragas to the set - the Raga Yaman being a favourite. We can adjust the set to match the mood of your event. Akash is based in Brighton, East Sussex.
