Alpha Gaunt, real name, Gary Williams started off life as Andrew Gaunt. Adopted at birth he felt something was different from those early days. Now working under the monica ‘Alpha Gaunt’ , an obvious play on His Birth name, acknowledging that we all have our own unique story. Alpha has always felt an empathy with those in positions of difficulty or suffering feeling a sense of vulnerability himself. Alpha puts this down to the fact He was given away by his Birth Mother and the untimely Death of his Adopting Mother when Alpha was 7 years old. Struggling to come to terms with this Alpha became withdrawn and introspective and so began a life long mission for self expression which manifested itself, initially through poetry which latter turned to lyric writing and in turn songwriting. With his childhood friend, Alpha started his first band aged 21. Initially covering Metal and Hard-Rock songs. Feeling like just another covers band wasn’t for Alpha so he started writing his first lyrics with his friend writing the music. After realising that being in a band was not quite as straight forward as he thought Alpha decided to learn guitar so he could use it for writing songs himself. The feeling of strumming a chord and singing a note sparked something deep within him and so the possibility of expressing his thoughts and feelings through songwriting dawned.
