Hey, I am a musician who specialises in composition from Norway (although I spent all of my childhood growing up in Kenya!). I am 19 years old and am currently the Musical Director and Composer for the Youth Theatre of Kenya. I grew up in Kenya and so I think my musical influences might be slightly on the unique side of things, given the inevitability of me combining those influences with typical, western musicians, for example The 1975, Jacob Collier, Japanese House, Lewis Capaldi, etc. I have also always been fascinated by musical theatre and film and that is typically where my passions lies so composers like Hans Zimmer and Tim Minchin have also heavily influenced my sound. I have been lucky enough to work alongside the Youth Theatre of Kenya for four years now, allowing me to compose five musicals - one of which is being performed in London, summer 2020 - and two soundtracks to still plays. I have also written two musicals for the Outreach and Education programme based on Apple's movie 'The Elephant Queen', giving me the opportunity to work with film makers. I love finding a unique sound or vibe, that's what I strive to do! I love experimenting with synthesis and sampling and also was an intern at one of the top studios in Kenya, where I further developed these skills. I also compose lyrics and what one might call mainstream music but I always try to add a little unique touch!
