Jay Rufus....Trumpet Player, DJ, Producer... Playing alongside such acts as Benny Benassi, The Legendary Dj Qbert, Skrillex, Keys N Krates, Beats Antique, Fergie, Flux Pavilion, Candyland, Archnemesis, DJP, Lindsey Sterling, One More Time, Oh Snap, DJ Serafin, DJ Jes-One, Zac Coats , Cyberoptics, Dj Kue, Produce & Destroy, Minnesota, Gareth Emery, MLE, Datsik, Paul Anthony, Bassthoven, the Late great DJ CHRON, Ed Crunk, and Nic Nubreed just to name a few, Jay Rufus has been tearing up the electronic music scene for well over a decade, working his way up from house parties through underground raves to historic and monumental clubs, and beautiful Mexico beach sets. Being a jazz trumpet player for 20 years, Rufus incorporates elements of jazz and bebop style into his live shows, playing the Trumpet live over his records, during the mix, or guest so His specialty is very diverse, consisting of Breakbeats, Electro Swing, Trap, Funky House, Dubstep, Hip Hop/D&B, Jazz, Trance, Party-rockin mashups, and Experimental. Jay Rufus has performed all around the Midwest, from his native home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to performances in Kansas City's famous Power & Light District, and Wisconsin, Illinois, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas. In 2007 Rufus dropped 2 Sunset mixes at the world famous El Cid Resort in Mexico. Jay rocked the decks as a part of the DJ Duo '2 DuB Breaks', spinning and playing trumpet at Stellar Spark 7 with Dj Qbert and Benny Benassi, among many other Djs for the NYE show in Milwaukee 2009-10...and played the GLOBAL Dance Fest 2011 in Kansas City, as well as opening up for Skrillex in 2011 at The Midland Theater in Kansas City. Now back home in Oklahoma, Rufus has opened for D.J.P, Jes-One, dropped an EP "Ghostpalms" in August 2013 and is currently keeping busy spinning solo or tagteam performances, and honing skills on the trumpet in the electronic music platform. _Website not available.
