The younger part of his life was spent in Chicago, IL until his parents split. He would later travel to various states in the south with his mother until finally heading west, landing in Los Angeles in 2011. JD's fascination with rapping started at the age of 9 when his older cousin put him on the rap game and showed him the basics of rhyming and word play. He was always a skilled writer, receiving many awards in his early school days but eventually lost his drive for education as .he set his sights on becoming an entrepreneur. In an effort by his mother to give him a better chance of a future, the two relocated to L.A. That's when Justin began to take his music career seriously. After being expelled from a number of schools in the South Bay for distribution of narcotics, he set aside his goals of becoming a Division 1 athlete, and put all of his efforts into his craft. He was referred to a studio, Chef Studios, by a local artist and put all of his money into studio time where he recorded his first mixtape as well as collaboration tracks with featured artist Justin Pate. While completing a social rehabilitation program, he came in contact with Rochad Holiday from late 90's r&b group "Something for the People". Holiday would eventually connect JD with Xxalt records, who he would eventually sign a production deal with in 2015.
