I love it when a story comes together, whether it's on the page or in the edit bay. I pride myself on taking any responsibility to further my career and I swim best when I'm thrown into the deep end. I am a professional media creator who has dived into as many parts of the media industry as I could in order to learn as much as possible. I began my career in high school, building an internal announcements program for IMMI from the ground up and filming and editing daily news programs for the company. Most recently, I have worked as an Assistant Editor for a China travel show (still to be released). Over the course of several months, I organized multiple shoots worth of travel footage; established efficient workflows for multiple editors and editing programs (at one point working on both Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro at the same time); and assisted in creating GRFX for the show using Adobe After Effects. Before that, I was an Assistant Editor for the feature film Ms. White Light, due to premiere in March at SXSW. For that, I organized the footage for the entire production in Adobe Premiere Pro. I have written and directed my own short films on shoestring budgets. Thanks to myself and the teams I have worked in, my films have been selected for screenings from the IU Crimson Film Festival to the Cannes Film Festival in France. In all of my experiences, I took on as many roles of responsibility as I could in order to not only be a better asset to my employers and teammates, but also to learn my chosen craft. My goal is to create stories and make media that audiences can enjoy, with the future goal of producing my own professional creative works. I will do whatever is necessary to reach that goal and take any task given to me with enthusiasm. kevincarpenter.squarespace.com
