A young writer dares to take the step and wants to publish his first work on his own. The new novel is a political thriller from the German present.
On the one hand, the aim is to arouse interest in the content and promote associations. On the other hand, it is necessary to find a visual form of expression that deliberately places the book away from the current cover designs in order to enable the author to position himself optimally in the book trade.
We develop a design that breaks with common conventions. No images, no illustrations, but the book content itself becomes the cover: text fragments are assembled into a collage that lives from overlapping and penetration. The form of a fish that reaches the surface takes up references to content and simultaneously plays with the metaphor of the title while the white space creates a disturbing profundity.
