Hello world I go by prime I was born and raised in Astoria Queens not to far from the legendary place Queensbridge. I got involved in hip hop music around 1985 whats crazy is that at first I didnt like hip hop music but after constantly hearing it constantly my sister would play it all the time like anything else it grew on me so from that point I was heavily involved. Around 1989 after watching my favorite rap group which at the time was the hall of famers RUN DMC I was blown away by there music and especially how they mixed rock with rap I thought that was genius , but I wasn't only blown away by run & dmc but it was the late great jam master jay that had my full attention I was amazed how he was using the turntables like if it was an instrument after watching that I begged my moms to buy me a set of technics 1200 which at the time cost $499 lol that was like a thousand dollars back then but I eventually got them and started djaying from like 1989 to 2007 when I finally stepped away from djaying I entered a few dj battles and in between all of that I was also rapping which I started to do that in 1993 but something in my heart told me that rapping wasn't me but I still pursued it and through the years my skills got better but through it all the beat producer inside was growing I had my hands in to much I felt I started making beats officially by 1995 using a Casio keyboard and a Dr rhythm drum machine in 1997 my mother bought me an asr-x drum machine which I fell in love with it was the akai mpc 2000 that won my heart still to this day I say thats one of my top drum machines I worked on I sold my asr-x in 2003 and bought a akai mpc 2000 I held on to that for about 5 years then I sold it in 2005 and stepped away from the beats and started focusing on rapping then in 2008 I had a long talk with my cousin that left me in shock he had told me how good of a producer I was and how I should reconsider my producer dream so I listened and bought a program that blew my mind away which was reason still in the process of making beats the rapper trapped inside wouldnt let go finally on oct 21 2013 I made a decision its either gonna be a rapper or a producer I choose to be a producer and the rest is history hello I go by prime
