Visionary creative director, visual artist and fashion/celebrities/portrait photographer Vincent Sung, was born in Busan, South Korea and adopted at age 3 by a Belgian family. He lived and studied visual communications in Brussels, Belgium before apprenticing with some renowned Belgian fashion photographers. His French-Belgian mother influenced his pursuit of beauty and was his muse as she was full of elegance, very cultivated and. He lived with her in Burgundy (the heart of Bourgogne wines & champagne making in France), then Provence, in the South of France. In 1992, he moved to Paris to take on assignments for a variety of famous Parisian modeling agencies, building models’ portfolios and worked for a number of French fashion magazines including Marie Claire bis. His Korean roots called him back to Seoul in June 1995 for his first-ever visit back to his ‘homeland’. After being fascinated by society and bringing a welcoming ‘French touch’ into Korean glossy magazines, he decided to move back to South Korea in 1996. He worked for the Korean editions of prominent international fashion and luxury magazines such as ELLE, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, Noblesse, Haute, frequently traveling on assignments that took him elsewhere in Asia, Europe and beyond. At the height of his career in January 1998, all Asia was severely hit by the economic crisis and IMF bailout. He also had a tragic loss in his family, when both his mother and stepfather died in a car accident. Life-changing plans made him decide to visit other unknown territories: USA and artistic New York City, where he lived for 2 years. New York vibrant art scene and influx of creative directors, fashion designers, and underground artists influenced his personal work and he came back to South Korea at the end of 2001 with ‘new perspectives and visions’ about photography and art in general, developing a strong personal style. From then, he became the most sought-after photographer by Korean movies stars like Jang Dong-gun, Lee Jong-jae, Daniel Henney, Bae Yong Joon, Oh Ji-ho; Korean actress/singer Uhm Jeong-hwa, Korean supermodels Oh ji-young, Jang Young-jin, and more … Early 2010, his globetrotter mindset and nomadic lifestyle, with a special affection for southeast Asian countries, made him decide to relocate to Bangkok, Thailand – the hub of travel and tourism industry where he planned to open a multi-function space/photo studio which will serve as a platform for creativity and a photo studio for magazines and advertising clients in Thailand and SE Asia. At present, he divides his time between Bangkok and Seoul, with frequent stays in Bali, Hanoi and Shanghai or elsewhere around the world.
