Project briefs are posted by Twine members (buyers) who want to hire creative talent. The buyer could be a client or a creative. You’ll see a mix of paid and free freelance projects. If a project has a green budget label on it, it’s paid. If not, it’s free. You can filter between them using the left-hand menu. It’s up to you whether you want to take on free projects. Our members say they’re a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and build your portfolio.

All the details for a project are set by the buyer. For more information on a project, send a message to the buyer:

When you find a project you like, send a pitch. Click the green ‘pitch’ button on any project brief and send a message explaining why you’d be the best person for the job. Some buyers opt to receive budget offers from creatives. This means you can set your price for the project when you pitch. The buyer will then decide who they want to work with. This article explains how to pitch on a project in more detail.

You can collaborate on projects with Twine members from all over the world, or use our location filter to work on projects that are near you*.

We get new project briefs every day so remember to check back. Or, look out for our weekly email notification with the best project briefs tailored to you. So that we can send the right projects to your inbox, set your featured roles on your portfolio page. That way we know what kind of projects you’re looking for. This article explains how to set your featured roles.

Did you know that creatives with a portfolio that displays their best work, bio, profile picture and cover image are much more likely to get hired on projects? It makes sense – our buyers want to see examples of your work before they decide to hire you. If your portfolio is empty or doesn’t describe who you are, how can they trust you with their work? Read up on our help section about how to maximise your portfolio’s potential.

You can receive payments directly through Twine, safely and securely with PayPal. This article will explain a little more about how payments work on Twine. We’ll be introducing more payment methods soon.

The last step is for your buyer to leave a rating for you. You’ll get a rating out of 5 stars. Your rating is visible on your portfolio page, and will help other buyers when they’re choosing who to work with. Vicky

After studying English Literature at university, Vicky decided she didn’t want to be either a teacher or whoever it is that writes those interminable mash-up novels about Jane Austen and pirates, so sensibly moved into graphic design.

She worked freelance for some time on various projects before starting at Twine and giving the site its unique, colourful look.

Despite having studied in Manchester and spent some years in Cheshire, she’s originally from Cumbria and stubbornly refuses to pick up a Mancunian accent. A keen hiker, Vicky also shows her geographic preferences by preferring the Cumbrian landscape to anything more local.
