Stephen Kennedy Phillips, better known by his stage name Kennedy Blaq, is an American Singer-Songwriter and self-proclaimed “R&B MC” hailing from Cleveland, Ohio. Blaq has been doing music since a very young age, but became official in December 2010. Since then, he has made quite a name for himself performing all around Cleveland and Kent. Blaq is an R&B singer who was raised on the roots of hip-hop giving him the title of “R&B MC.” His musical style and vocal capabilities have been compared to those of Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, Ne-Yo, as well as Usher. He gained a small fan base with the release of his “R&B Hero Vol. 1” mixtape in the fall of 2011. He followed in the summer of 2012 with the release of his first ever hip-hop mixtape entitled “Chronicles.” When asked about the title Blaq stated that “Every song is a different chapter into my life…I wanted everyone to see the side of me that they never knew existed.” Since then he has performed in various locations, which include the Idea Center, West Side Music and Art Festival, as well as more recently the Kent Stage, the House of Blues, as well as the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as a part of their “What’s Going On Now” tribute to Marvin Gaye. Lately, you can hear Kennedy Blaq as a featured artist on Young Troubled Mind’s recent project Nzuri Giza. On April 13, Kennedy Blaq released his much anticipated “R&B Hero Vol. 2” mixtape. The standout tracks of Garden of Love and Enterlewd have brought much attention to his name. Recently, he has embarked on a 17 week long challenge, providing people with free and good quality music with a new song every week. Every song was recorded the week of and was recorded and mixed with artwork all done by Blaq himself. On November 29, he released his "genre-bending" project entitled NOIR. With the lead singles "Let's Get Gone" and "How I Feel" the project garnered much attention. Adamo Fiscella ("AKA" Ghostatic) is a new electronic music artist/vocalist/producer from Cleveland, Ohio. Not a rookie to the music scene, Adamo has been in the band circuit for a few years, singing and producing for many other projects from Cleveland to NYC. While using a lot of electronic elements in his previous work, Adamo has since shifted his talents to purely electronic music. His influences range from old school artist's like Trent Reznor and Depeche Mode, to the modern producers of today such as Nero and Feed Me. Keep a close eye on this edgy new artist. You will be hearing his name a lot in the next coming year.
