My name is June and I’m a composer for film, TV and games. I mostly create orchestral music but I love to fuse it with other styles, regional influences and synthesisers when I can. 2 of my favourite composers are Joe Hisaishi and Ludwig Göransson who inspire me with the unique character in their music and themes. I really enjoy opportunities that expose me to new styles that I can then incorporate into my own work.
In terms of experience, I am currently working on a short film for a client in California. It is expected to do quite well in the film festival circuit in the US. This project involves me blending a traditional orchestral soundtrack with 80s influences. I also recently worked on an unreleased video game for a client in Japan. This game is heavily influenced by Japanese culture so it gave me the chance to learn a lot about traditional Japanese instruments and styles, then use them in the soundtrack.
I have had a fair amount of music education, with me currently studying Film Music. Before that, I completed a music A level, receiving a grade A. During that period of time, I attended the junior programme of Trinity Laban Conservatoire as a pianist. Aside from my piano, I also play alto saxophone and maintain skills in bass, guitar and drums.…My name is June and I’m a composer for film, TV and games.
