Velvet Engine, the brainchild of Latina Northamptonian San-D Godoy, emerged enthusiastically into our lives and our hearts at the start of 2008 as a solo act. After numerous positive reviews, tours and radio airplay, she introduced occasional band members Matt Philpotts during 2011 on guitar, and guests Runa Ubillus Ayers on cello, Roz Webber on viola and Mark Hales on percussion. In 2012, they released their long-awaited debut release 'Glimpse Of The Sun', a collection of songs which have been described as

Counting Laura Marling, Neil Young, Daughter and Fleet Foxes amongst her many influences. Northampton Music Festival Review - Despite the recent stint of thunder and rain the weather held off throughout the day and helped to draw in the crowds at many of the stages including those smaller stages along Abington Street. These stages were ideal for local acoustic artists to perform turning the otherwise bustling street into a tranquil and intimate setting. One act that stood out were Velvet Engine, a two piece performing a collection of their own music including the tracks 'Wishing It Away' and 'Going Home'. ' Herald & Post
