Producer, songwriter, artiste, graphic designer and DJ are just a few of the hats that he wears and no this is not a scenario of polycephaly, rather it's a case where multitalented Elrico Hunte better referred to as daPIXEL plays a handful of roles. Born in the multifaceted village of Roseau, daPIXEL has always displayed a profound love for music. Being from a community where there is an obvious love for sound system and music, daPIXEL found himself reciting songs from varying artistes and even drumming on pots and buckets as if he was in a live session. He describes music as being essential to life as much as he needs oxygen to breathe.
For any individual to be so focused and dedicated to juggling so many tasks, speaks highly of them and daPIXEL is no exception. Faced with so many distractions of things he could be doing, he still chooses to be dedicated to his craft and continuously works to bettering everything that he does. This characteristics of being a perfectionist sometimes irritates his friends and colleagues he admits, as he often spends FOREVER getting that right sound. He laughs that while they get irritated through the process, the final product WOWS them away, so at the end it is all worth it.
In his pursuit to grow and excel in what he loves, daPIXEL has worked and collaborated with many artistes and producers ranging from his team at Island Shak Entertainment; Dymez, MXG, Cymbal Alexander and Fresh Kydd to the likes of Stamina Smurf, Kubiyashi, Icon, Maddzart and D'LanLord to name a few. While he notes that the journey to be successful has many speed bumps and dips, he admits that he embraces the challenges as they encourage him to always be ready for whatever life throws his way.

Summary
As a Musician and Music Composer I have been working for the Music Industry for 15 years composing, producing and recording music for all kind of platforms; film, video games, performing arts, theater, short films, jingles, mainstream music, locution among others, working for and with prestigious musicians and producers like 3 Grammy winners.
Studied Filmmaking in “Universidad de Nuevo Mundo” and “Estudios Lumiere” in Mexico city. Afterwards I studied Audio Engineering in ¨Sala de Audio¨ with prestigious Sound Engineer Salvador Tercero. Recording over 50 projects in the studio, working with all sorts of music. This experience led me to develop high skills in recording, editing, tuning and mixing.
My most recent work, made in 2019, for the short film “Marianne” directed by Eduardo de la Cerda won in the “Canadian Cinematography Awards”, “New York Cinematography awards” and was part of the official selection in the “Experimental music and dance feedback festival” in Toronto.
Music Composer for the bands “Pájaro Sauce” and “Sui”, which opened the door for several main radio stations in Mexico like “MVS Radio” ¨Reactor¨ and ¨RMX¨. Independently also composed music for two theater plays one directed by Andrés Castuera and the other by Roberto Manzano.
As a performer I have played more than 200 gigs in some of the most important festivals and venues like in Mexico.
