Originally called to acting, I attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. A few weeks after turning sixteen, I was introduced to Luis Bunuel’s Un Chien Andalou, which proved a transformative experience. Growing up in the inner city of London, surrounded by a wealth of crime, I often felt trapped in my environment. Enchanted by the freedom of the avant-garde, I began the march towards producing and directing, obtaining my undergraduate degree in film production at the University of Portsmouth in the UK producing a number of films, both documentary and fictional. Moving to Los Angeles and attending graduate school at Loyola Marymount University was initially unnerving but quickly developed into my greatest decision to date. The faculty at LMU encouraged students to discover other interests within Film Production and naturally I thought this would serve my all round development within the craft. As a result I have a good understanding of many roles of film having served in the positions. This is something i've adopted in my life in general, never restricting myself and venturing down paths I ordinarily wouldn't. After working freelance for a year post grad school, I wasn't quite ready to return to the UK for good yet. This new found attitude drew me to China for 9 months. I explored, taught English and worked on some shoots and although I was uncomfortable in an unfamiliar place, I felt a need to stay on longer than intended relying upon familiar comforts; reading, writing, cooking and the positive energy you get surrounding yourself with good people.
