Available to hire
I’m Michael Morfiadakis, a Unity XR Developer focusing on multiplayer XR experiences, remote rendering, and spatial audio. I specialize in Photon Unity Networking, Riptide Networking, OpenXR, Meta XR SDK and WebXR, with experience in ORamaVR’s R&D team developing medical training XR simulations using the MAGES SDK.
I enjoy turning complex XR challenges into scalable, robust solutions, building networking modules and custom architectures for collaborative sessions, remote physics rendering servers, and spatial voice chat for Unity, while collaborating across teams to push the boundaries of immersive training.

Work Experience
Experienced Cloud & Networking XR Developer at ORamaVR
December 1, 2021 - September 15, 2024Started as a gametester while learning the company's custom MAGES SDK, went on to do internship for 3 months, then developed a custom networking architecture based on a relay server that was used for multiplayer and coop.
Afterwards I worked full-time, hybrid mostly with the R&D team on multiple EU-funded projects related to 5G Remote Rendering technologies. Using my custom network architecture I developed various networking modules for the company's latest MAGES NXT SDK that was published in the Unity Store, such as a Physics Dissection module for a remote physics rendering server, as well as a custom Voice Chat with spatial audio for Unity using an open source wrapper of the Opus Audio Codec. The former was published and presented as a paper in CGI2024.
Cloud & Network XR Developer at ORamaVR
September 1, 2024 - September 1, 2024Worked in the R&D department on EU-funded XR projects; developed a relay-server-based networking architecture using Riptide Networking, achieving approximately 25% bandwidth reduction compared to Photon PUN. Led the Remote Rendering Physics Dissection Networking Module and optimized XR multiplayer sessions supporting up to 100 concurrent players; created automation scripts to simulate large numbers of users for scalability testing.
VR Developer Intern at ORamaVR
June 1, 2022 - August 31, 2022Trained in the company’s MAGES SDK for Unity, used to create low-code XR training simulations. Debugged and fixed bugs in single- and multiplayer medical training scenarios. Developed a standalone relay server prototype as an introduction to multiplayer/co-op development.
Apprentice Game Tester at ORamaVR
December 1, 2021 - May 31, 2022Assisted engineers in testing VR medical training simulations; documented testing sessions with timestamped issue reports; gained hands-on experience with Oculus Quest devices and XR testing workflows.
