Board Game Design

Very Popular job

I’m Jeff, an IT Director, sports fan and Dad with two boys who are hockey crazy… which is mostly my fault, but hockey crazy nonetheless. :) This project came about when we were working on a school project to create a board game to learn about solids, gases and liquids. We worked on giving it a hockey theme while maintaining the education value. We created rules to lightly mimic the game and they absolutely loved it! My wife and I do as well - its a great way to spend time as a family. We love it so much, we would like to create a “production like” version to distribute to family and friends as a gift and as a way to determine whether it could be a hit or not. If it’s a hit with them as well, my wife and I plan to take it to her company, a large children’s toy and entertainment company, to distribute. It’s a long shot to get to that point, but our goal right now is to create the best version of the game we possibly can as a keepsake and possibly get to a point that would generate revenue.

I have extensive experience in technical work for web, mobile and voice applications with some expertise in UX/UI design, but to create the visuals or design for the game board based on what I have in mind is well beyond my expertise level. I’m looking for a freelancer or agency to collaborate with to come up fun, creative and memorable design for kids and adults alike. Specifically, I’m looking for the below digital files that that are print ready.

  1. Board game design - 20″ x 20″
  2. Trivia game card template - Front and back - 2.5" x 3.5"
  3. Logo or board game name text

There is no urgency for this, I’m flexible with timing, but I am looking for quality, professional level design. I’m hoping to work with someone who will understand my thoughts and vision for a look and feel and suggest and recommend a design that will be fun and inspirational for kids and bring a sense of nostalgia to their parents.

Here is the example style we are looking for:

If you need any additional information/specific materials, I would be more than happy to send them through.
