Character design and Animation for a Fantasy Video Game
My new UK based games company is developing a comedy fantasy quiz game for mobile and desktop devices. The characters range from knights and dragons to trolls and talking goats, so there’s plenty of fun to be had with design.
I have already done some character design and storyboarding myself for the demo, so some ideas are already in place, but the project needs a skilled creative to bring the artwork up to the high standard needed for public release.
We need a redesign of around 20 characters, around 30 backgrounds, a few key elements like icons and symbols, and the 20 phone screens for the quiz rounds themselves.
Animation-wise the main things would be simple speech, expression and gesture for each character as well as some more complex moves for some characters like running and fighting.
We are also in need of a decent logo for our company as well.
In terms of timescale, we are currently applying for funding so I don’t have a clear picture of when the job needs to be done as yet, but my guess would be July/August this year.
Based on my fairly limited knowledge of animation etc. my guess is the job would take 4-5 weeks to complete.
I am really interested in hearing from you and getting an idea of your payment rates.
