Street Art/Stencil Art/Fine Art Ongoing Project Los Angeles, United States

Graphic Designer

Graphic Designer is needed in Los Angeles, United States.

My name is Alex, I’m 31 and I was born and raised in Los Angeles and still reside here. I’m doing an ongoing street art/stencil art/fine art project. I’ve already completed several images but I need a new graphic designer/illustrator at this point. Ideally one that understands the style and can accomplish the images professionally and efficiently. It would be a big bonus for the person I find to be passionate and know about street art but that isn’t mandatory.

The project is me creating several street art /stencil art style pieces of ideas I’ve thought up and I have a lot of ideas and would like to accomplish as many as possible but I do have a budget especially since I want to make as many images as possible within my budget. The themes of these images are social issues, climate change, fear, love, death, satire, addiction, nostalgia, etc. That’s why I hope to find someone who is an efficient, experienced graphic designer/illustrator who takes direction well, has an eye for detail and gets what I’m going for.

Basically I will give very detailed notes and specific reference images on how to create a certain image then we will sit and work on it together. I’ve found through experience that sitting with a graphic designer/illustrator to create the images I want to create is much faster and more efficient but I don’t need to be there the entire time necessarily.
I have many images I want to do I want to do one at a time and just get through as many of them as possible. Once the images are created and vectorized I will take them and either cut out stencils and spray paint them on canvas or make silk screens and print the images on canvas or paper. I want to start quite soon if I find the right person then we can talk and see if we would work well together.

Once I see who I’ll be working with I’ll share some of the pieces I’ve done already but the style I’m going for is the street art/stencil style but to get even more specific because there are so many stencil/street artists the ones whose style I’m going for the most are artists like Banksy, Blek le Rat, and Dolk. If you look at even just a few of each of those artists pieces that is the style I’m going for plain and simple. I am providing a Pinterest link below with many examples of the almost exact stencil style I am going for. My ideas are different and original but my style is comprised of black stencils. Much of the time I will provide specific reference photos and certain elements mainly people will be taken from the reference photos then turned into black stencils keeping a fair amount of detail then all the elements will be brought together sometimes adding color sometimes not and then vectorized. Some images will require illustration as well.

If this kind of project interests you and want ongoing work please reach out. Each image will take different amounts of time but I was hoping to find someone that’s around 30-40/hour give or take just so we could accomplish each image for a reasonable price. Just being honest I can’t be spending hundreds of dollars per image mainly because I can’t afford that and also because I know roughly how long these actually take to create. Most of the images are fairly simple and some are more complex because they have more elements in the image but I’ve worked on these kind of images before and I’ve seen the range of time taken to make these are usually 1-3 hours give it take depending on the image and how efficiently you work. Just being honest again, in the past when someone has said it took them something like 5-7 hours to complete a fairly simple image it is because they didn’t read my notes thoroughly and started creating something that was not in line with my instructions at all and because of that I had to course correct them more then once then they counted all of that time. I assure you if you read my detailed notes thoroughly especially while working with me these will go fairly quickly. I hope to find someone great for this project really soon and be able to start soon especially since I’ve already started the project and have several pieces completed already. I would much prefer someone I can sit and work with in person but if you’re out of town and feel passionate about this kind of project we could use a screen sharing program and work together that way. I look forward to hearing from some of you who read this. Thank you for your time and interest.
