Illustration Artist wanted to join Roar Illustration Agency - a one-of-a-kind boutique art and illustration agency representing a carefully chosen selection of the world’s most outstanding artists. They are searching for a self-motivated, creative individual to join the agency as a Part-Time Junior Artist Agent on a freelance basis, with the possibility of becoming a salaried role after 6 months (if wanted).

This post would be ideal for someone who is currently working as a freelancer and wants to supplement their income to support their own business, as well as someone who is interested in potentially progressing within the role to a more full-time position as an Artist Agent here at Roar. As a Junior Illustration artist, you will be in charge of assisting with the overall operation of the agency, including social media administration, updating the Roar website artist portfolios, blog, news, and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Build new industry ties through face-to-face and virtual meetings where you showcase their roster and current initiatives.
  • Introduce their excellent collection of artists to professional contacts, both pre-existing agency connections and those within your own network and beyond.
  • Assist in the creation of a comprehensive marketing strategy for the agency and each artist represented.
  • They will collaborate with you to better understand how they project manage commissions for their artists, which will include contract negotiation and billing, with the goal of having you handle as you feel confident.
  • The applicant must be interested in the creative sector and, preferably, be aiming to advance their career in an agency or artist management environment.
  • While this is a creative environment, they want to emphasize that you will not be doing any creative work for the agency or their clients, and you will not be promoting your work as an illustrator or artist while working as an agent for the agency.

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of the contemporary creative, cultural, and advertising scene.
  • Someone who is passionate, fun, and energetic; someone who enjoys working with new individuals and is enthusiastic about their roster.
  • Well-organized and capable of prioritizing work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as confidence in interacting with clients and creatives.
  • A flexible, proactive, and ready attitude toward work.
  • A passion for art, artists, and all things creative
  • A willingness to learn - Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and competent to execute projects alone.
  • Computer literate - People person - capable of communicating with people at all levels verbally and in writing
  • Discreet and capable of handling sensitive information
  • Previous experience working as an Agent or Artists’ Representative is preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of Adobe software, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word programs
  • Face-to-face experience working with clients.
  • Because the position would require you to be on the computer frequently, they ask that you kindly note if you have your own laptop during your application. If you do not, they will give you with a laptop to use while working at RIA/SVP, which must be returned after your job with the company ends.

Concerning the job:

Fee: £15 per hour for seven hours each day.
Days: 2-to-3 days per week for the first three months, with the possibility of increasing hours and days if this works for both parties.
Location: A combination of remote and in-office work is desirable, although they are open to flexible working hours and totally remote candidates.

Working hours, days, and location(s) of where work can be done are all variable; however, there will be events and duties that require you to be on-site or at client meetings, so please keep this in mind when applying.

Please keep in mind that they have a large American and international client base, which means that some projects may require different working hours. If this is the case, they’re always happy for you to schedule your working day to correspond with the hours you need to work, and any overtime will be paid or given in lieu.
