About us

TV Santa Barbara is the community media access television station in Santa Barbara, CA. TV Santa Barbara is a 501© 3 non-profit organization which operates two community access television channels, 17 and 71, and has been around since 1975. The video editor can be either a part-time or full-time position, depending on experience.

TV Santa Barbara is looking for a video editor to assist with video productions. This is part-time position to start with room for growth into a full-time position. A background or degree in media, communications and/or video production and 2+ years of professional (non freelance) experience is required.

Must have solid experience using Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere and the Adobe suite of products. Must be detailed oriented and able to turn around projects quickly. The video editor will be tasked with taking the raw footage shot by a film crew and director and turning it into the final product. The video editor may also assist with video production shoots, government meeting broadcasts, support member services and help with channel programming. Beautiful Santa Barbara office location with some flexibility to work from home.

Additional Skills:

Strong attention to technical detail

Video production experience required

Experience working Google suite or Microsoft office products, Adobe Creative Cloud and video editing software (Premiere and/or Final Cut Pro) required

Working knowledge of social media, specifically video

A good storyteller with a creative eye

Ability sticking to hard and fast deadlines

A confident, proactive self-starter

Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and possess strong interpersonal skills

Be able to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative and creative environment

Strong sense of urgency

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
