About Column Five

Column Five is a B2B-focused creative agency that helps ambitious brands find and tell their best stories to drive real results. We’re consistently looking for good creative people and pairs of hands. Particularly, we’re looking to work with freelance Motion Designers or Animators.

Responsibilities

• Problem-solving complex design issues using skills in storyboarding, design, animation, and creative storytelling
• Advanced skills in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Cinema 4D
• Translating static design into memorable motion graphics
• Understanding of foundational design elements such as compositional layout, illustration, and typography
• Executing sound design from start to finish and providing solid direction to music composition

Requirements

• Portfolio examples of leading projects in generalist motion graphics work, 2D animation, character rigging/animation, 3D animation, and UI animation
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Ability and passion to learn new techniques and plugins
• Knowledge of Cinema 4D and Premiere Pro
• Broad knowledge of and ability to work in a variety of design aesthetics
• Strong communication skills, ability to clearly articulate design decisions and execute a client or product story
• Humility to listen, grow, and learn
• Comfortable working directly with clients and with a team to create good work
• A few years of experience in an agency or comparable animation/motion design ability through work-for-hire as a motion designer or animator
