Location: Remote within New York

Contract: Contractor

Responsibilities:

• Work within the Editorial Calendar to research, write, edit, and publish on a daily basis, unique regional content, based on the target market.
• Participate in regular brainstorming sessions for new content and marketing ideas
• Create content designed to highlight attractions, businesses and things to do throughout the NYC region
• Create timely blog articles about upcoming events, business openings, restaurant reviews, op-eds, and other regional news
• Foster a positive community spirit for locals, tourists, small businesses and nonprofits in the areas represented

Requirements:

• Hold a BA in either English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or similar degree
• Uphold deadlines, multitask, communicate efficiently and clearly
• Manage multiple projects at once
• Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented with ability to re-prioritize tasks as needed
• Strong knowledge of the NYC regions and local communities we write about

Candidates must be based in NYC and should have 3-5 years of experience in a writing position or similar field, and 1-3 years of experience in editing. SEO experience is a plus. The position pays $25-$55/hr depending on experience.
