Client: Not Just Dance
Location: Chantilly, United States
Contract: Part Time
Job Description
Not Just Dance is seeking Voice Teachers who are able to teach all ages, including beginners, intermediate level students and advanced intermediate level students. Our students are typically theatre students. Helping students find their performance voice is critical to teaching at our studio.
We are also looking for music directors, specifically to work on Mondays and Fridays with our SpongeBob students. (Music directors are needed for “some” rehearsals - but not all. We can work around conflicts. Typically, music directors are needed more at the start of the year and it tapers off in the winter/spring as the music is taught.) We are also looking for a music director to work on Saturdays with our advanced students on Sweeney Todd. Again, it would not be every Saturday. However, Sweeney Todd is a music heavy show, so we would need a music director that is available most Saturdays.
For private lessons, we match students to teachers. We work with private voice teachers on a schedule that fits their schedule. We take care of the scheduling and all of the charges. Your main job is to work with students and help them develop their voice!
Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice Pedagogy or Voice/Vocal Performance. Preference will be given to teachers with a Masters or Doctoral Degree
- Need to be able to teach both private and group sessions
- Preference will be given to those with teaching experience
- Preference will be given to those who have helped students prepare for auditions
- Fluent English and good communication skills are required
- Preference will be given to those who can play piano
- Must have a love and passion for teaching for all levels and all goals
Listing all possible hours. However, we will work with potential teachers to match students who are also available when the teacher is available. So, for example, if a teacher is available Thursdays 5 - 9 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 12 pm, we will work with that teacher to set that schedule. If you are interested in being the music director for SpongeBob, you would be needed “most” Mondays and Fridays from 6 - 8 pm (Sept - March). If you are interested in music directing Sweeney Todd, you would be needed “almost all” Saturdays from 1 - 4 pm (Sept - Feb).
Schedule:
- Mondays – 3 pm – 9 pm
- Tuesdays – 3 pm – 9 pm
- Wednesdays - 3 pm - 9 pm
- Thursdays – 3 pm – 9 pm
- Fridays - 3 pm - 9 pm
- Saturdays - 9 am - 2 pm
