Job Description

This job is with Amazon, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. The People Engagement Experience (PEX) team revolutionizes user experiences for Amazonians globally, directly impacting millions by helping them achieve work-life balance and advance in their careers. As a UX Designer on the employee-facing design systems team, you will lead design initiatives, create implementation strategies, and deliver scalable design components across products and platforms.

The role requires a candidate who is an innovative self-starter, capable of driving operational excellence, influencing others, and collaborating with engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for the following key job responsibilities:

  • Assume ownership for components, patterns, and templates for product experiences and features across various platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to implement high-quality, scalable additions to the design system.
  • Create and maintain documentation outlining standards and best practices for the component library.
  • Model and exemplify Amazon’s Leadership Principles.
  • Implement processes for scaling and managing parts of a design system.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to grow junior team members.
  • Dive deep to learn how product managers, designers, and engineers serve customers.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of design experience.
  • An available online portfolio.
  • Expertise in Figma.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hands-on visual design.
  • Experience delivering design solutions for large scope and complexity projects.
  • Experience in defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards.
