Job Description

Our Media is a leading special-interest content business based in Bristol, offering market-leading brands in craft, cycling, science and nature, homes, and music. We provide highly trusted, original content to help audiences pursue their passions through print, video, and online platforms. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Reviews Writer to join the Affiliate team, focusing on reviewing outdoor gear, specifically for hiking, camping, trail running, and other outdoor activities. The role will closely align with BBC Countryfile Magazine while collaborating with other titles within the OM portfolio. The Digital Reviews Writer will oversee the entire review process, from product identification to publishing.

Requirements

Essential:

• Experience in writing product reviews, preferably in outdoor gear or related industries.
• Strong personal interest in outdoor activities (hiking, camping, trekking, mountaineering).
• Exceptional writing skills for clear, engaging, and informative content aimed at digital platforms.
• Deep understanding of outdoor gear and its functions, features, and benefits.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze user reviews to provide accurate product information.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems (CMS).
• Strong attention to technical specifications and product design details.
• Ability to communicate complex product details clearly and concisely.
• Capability to work independently and manage deadlines.
• Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Experience with Apple News and Google Discover.
• Experience promoting content across social media platforms.
• Familiarity with basic editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
• Ability to produce high-quality photos or videos of outdoor gear.
• Relevant certifications or training (e.g., wilderness survival, first aid).
