Job Description

Are you a creative soul that loves to solve problems visually? Are you always trying out new design tools and features to broaden your skillset? Are you curious, ask questions, and strive to add the ‘wow’ factor to every deliverable? ISL’s Graphic Design team is looking for a designer to cover a leave of absence. This position will primarily support, create, and maintain visual assets for business development in our BC offices. The job can be based from any of our main offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Burnaby, or Langley.

ISL’s Marketing and Creative Service’s Team is a tight-knit, high-energy group who supports all 14 of ISL’s offices in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon Territory. We function as an in-house ad agency, act as trusted advisors building relationships to effectively support communication and business development efforts, and always have time to be creative.

Requirements

Your cover letter must demonstrate:

• Your ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines when working on a variety of simultaneous projects
• How you anticipate needs, think logically and strategically, exercise good judgment and act independently as necessary
• Your collaborative approach to graphic design for a business audience

Your Resume Should Show Us:

• Diploma or equivalent in new media production, graphic design, or related discipline
• At least 5 years of highly relevant and impactful experience in graphic design and working on a graphic design team
• Proficiency working with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience consulting with a variety of stakeholders to establish the overall look, graphic elements, and content of communications materials

Bonus Points For:

• Previous experience working in an engineering or architectural office and providing engagement support
• Video editing, illustration, or photography skills
• Previous experience setting up a graphic asset management system
• Knowledge of SharePoint

A Little More About The Role:

• Creating and inserting graphics into a wide variety of business documents such as reports, proposals, project profiles, and other technical or promotional materials.
• Ensuring that a high level of professionalism and quality is communicated through layout and visuals.
• Managing project photos including permissions from clients, editing, enhancing, cropping, and formatting.
• Preparing project organization charts, flow charts, presentations, etc.
• Coordinating with corporate suppliers for signage and promotional items.
• Exploring new creative opportunities from automation and AI.

What ISL Offers:

Depending on your experience level, the salary range for this position (based on a 40-hour work week) is: $58,240.00 ($28/hour) - $62,400.00 ($30/hour).
