Client: Jennergy
Location: United States
Contract: Part-time and Contractor, Contractor, Contractor
Job Description
Jennergy is an award-winning creative agency dedicated to delivering exceptional digital experiences. We’re seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join us as an ongoing freelance contractor. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the user experience across a range of client websites and SaaS web applications—creating solutions that are intuitive, visually compelling, and grounded in thoughtful design systems.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in complex design environments and has a passion for scalable, responsive web applications. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of UX best practices, and a love for crafting clean, elegant interfaces.
Responsibilities
• Lead the UX/UI design process for websites and complex web applications—from initial concept through to final implementation.
• Design and iterate on new product features, solving usability challenges like navigation, information hierarchy, and user flows to deliver cohesive, intuitive experiences.
• Expand and enhance existing UI systems (e.g., dark mode), ensuring accessibility compliance and consistency within established design systems.
• Identify gaps and opportunities within client visual systems and provide strategic design recommendations.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes that clearly communicate complex interactions, user flows, and interface states (hover, focus, keyboard shortcuts, etc.).
• Produce UX deliverables, including wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to effectively communicate design intent.
• Work efficiently within established processes and design workflows, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Present design work with clarity and polish, effectively connecting design rationale to user needs and business goals.
Requirements
• 4+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with a track record of leading digital projects independently.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating successful digital product and web design, especially for large-scale websites and web applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity design, and advanced features like component libraries, variables, and Dev Mode.
• Expertise in designing responsive web experiences, with a keen eye for layout, typography, hierarchy, and interaction patterns that enhance usability and engagement.
• Experience working within a design system and contributing to its expansion, particularly for web-specific components.
• Excellent visual design fundamentals with the ability to champion high-quality UI execution.
• Deep understanding of UX best practices and human-centered design principles.
• Proven ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, HCI, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the Event Technology industry.
• Experience designing for drag-and-drop or web builder platforms.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript (coding experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with front-end web frameworks, including Material Design and Flutter.
• Experience with WordPress and other CMS platforms.
Work Expectations
This is an ongoing contract position with an anticipated workload of 15–30 hours per week, depending on experience and project needs. Availability to start within the next few weeks. Fully remote collaboration with the team during standard Pacific Time business hours. We use Slack and Teamwork (online project management tool) for communication and coordination.
Application Requirements
• Hourly rate required to apply (Can include your rate on your Resume).
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• A digital portfolio link demonstrating successful digital product design and/or web design projects.
