Job Description

The Photographer Level 1 is responsible for capturing digital content in accordance with the client style guide, collaborating with stylists, merchandise coordinators, fellow photographers, and other team members. This role involves independently directing photo sets, managing workflows, ensuring compliance with studio and client project guidelines, uploading, and archiving images as required.

Requirements

Key Functions

• Independently manage photography and/or video sets with various subjects (Mannequin, Tabletop, Model) both on location and in the studio.
• Communicate effectively with clients on photo set requirements.
• Assist higher-level photographers and teams in Studio Maintenance.
• Ensure quality control on completed images following the style guide and job worksheet.
• Complete image naming, metadata addition, shot counts, and quality control tasks daily.
• Create necessary documentation, including lighting diagrams and shooting examples.

Position Duties

• Collaborate with Project Manager(s) for successful daily shoots.
• Provide accurate time assessments for scheduling and client estimates.
• Participate actively in Pre-Production and Retrospective meetings.
• Process images and maintain proper documentation of job specifications.
• Mentor and train team members on studio/client standards.
• Maintain a well-organized workplace, both physically and digitally.
• Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, including international travel.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
• 2-3 years of experience in e-commerce photography.
• Portfolio showcasing commercial/e-commerce photography work.
• Proficient in MAC operating systems and various digital communication tools.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Capture One, and lighting equipment.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours on a cement studio floor.
• Repetitive use of hands for tasks related to photography and data entry.
• Visual and auditory capabilities to respond to inquiries effectively.
• Capability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license required for traveling to shoot locations.
