Hi, I'm Hero. If you’ve watched my showreel you’ve probably figured it out already but I’m obsessed with 2D Animation and bringing stories through beautiful art alive. Last year I successfully obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in film and motion design from the Design College of Hamburg, Germany. My studies included 2D Animation and I was immediately hooked. It’s fascinating to me that it’s possible to create immersive worlds with a couple of drawings and that there are no limits in bringing the imagination to reality. I still love immersing into fantastic worlds, brought to life through animation. I write my ideas down, often develop storyboards and you’ll find me sketching and drawing almost anywhere then making short films in my own time mixing between paper and media software. I never really grew up when it comes to watching movies. My mum once asked me, why can’t I draw something different besides dragons and other mythical creatures. Now I’m 23 and I can now animate my mythical creations. The power of Illustration and animation to create complete new worlds is simply a thrill for me. During my internship at the German animation studio „Fabian&Fred“ I worked on a children’s short film called “I am not afraid“ that had its premiere at the Berlinale Film Festival in 2022. In the film I animated several scenes using “Animate” (or “Flash”) which was a great experience in being able to apply quick animation skills for an effective end product. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on a project for the German/French TV producers from Arte TV. In that work I was given responsibility for and delivered the design, drawing and animation for several sequences in an educational short film.
