Rick Gonzalez (b. 1988, San Jose, CA, United States) is a video artist and mixed media artist who lives and works in Washington, D.C. Rick has always been drawn to artistic expression that tells a story. In the last five years, as Rick has added collaging as his main medium, he has continued to experiment with different ways to create connections between unexpected images and visuals.
In both his short films and collages, Rick’s goal is to mix unexpected visuals that draw the viewer in while presenting a new perspective and way to think about everyday objects. The processes for creating films and digital and analog collaging vary but are also connected because of the ability to manipulate images and time through cutting paper for collaging or editing film projects, arranging and rearranging images and photos.
