Emma Most is an emerging composer and sound designer based in Los Angeles, who is passionate about crafting musical narrative through multimedia collaborations. Versatility and creativity drive Emma’s work for both visual media as well as concert music. Born in Macau, Weng built a strong foundation in composition at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She has since gone on to pursue a Master’s degree in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California. Born in Macau, Weng built a strong foundation in composition at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She has since gone on to pursue a Master’s degree in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California. Her musical style is as diverse as her cultural background and musical upbringing, encompassing Orchestral, Eastern, Romantic, Electronic, Hybrid, Action and music for Animation.
An accomplished classical pianist, Weng has won multiple awards in China and holds Piano Performance Diploma as a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music. She collaborates frequently with the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra as a soloist and guest pianist.
She began her composition journey in high school where her passion for film music rapidly grew bringing to light the infinite possibilities that this genre offers. Her passion now drives her career in film scoring, where she has won numerous competitions including Best Score at the Cosmic Film Festival, Winner of the 9th National College Music Awards in China and the Lei Cine Scoring Project. She has collaborated with and composed for short films, games, documentaries, advertisements, concert works. Her debut album "By the Sea" (for piano quartet) was released in 2022.
Since graduation, she has been assisting Penka Kouneva for additional orchestration, working as orchestrator for Steve Jablonsky’s upcoming feature “Borderlands”. In the past months, she has assisted various composers, earning acclaim for her exceptional talents and strong work ethic. The composers that she has assisted include: Elia Cmiral for “In the Name of the Son”, Alex Winkler for the feature projects, Alex Mansour on “SOMM TV Cup of Salvation” and Christopher Young etc. Presently, she is actively contributing to studio management and assisting on forthcoming projects alongside her music hero, Mychael Danna. Furthermore, she is acknowledged as an emerging orchestrator, working with individual clients and recently became a part of Nolan Markey’s orchestration team(Ahsoka, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), contributing to various blockbuster franchises.
