Back in the early 2000s, my life was all about music. As a member of the dynamic Pop/R&B group Next Phaze, I was fully immersed in performing and dreaming big. Yet, my ambitions didn’t stop there, I was equally passionate about the technical side of music, diving headfirst into the realms of recording and professional audio mixing.
Armed with nothing but a passion for music and my parent's credit card, I took my first steps towards becoming a studio sound engineer. That leap of faith involved investing in high-end recording gear! It was a pretty big surprise when my parents saw the credit card bill! But for me, it was the first investment in my dream.
My pursuit led me to Los Angeles, where a victory in a talent contest on XP Entertainment opened new doors in the music industry. Suddenly, I was interning at Sound Affairz studio, rubbing shoulders with Claudio Cueni, an icon in R&B mixing. This experience was more than just a learning opportunity; it was my initiation into the world of professional audio mixing, where I began to hone my skills in classic and modern mixing techniques.
As I earned my stripes, a pivotal moment challenged me to think beyond the norm. The industry standard for mixing at 24bit-44.1kHz seemed limiting when higher fidelity was within reach. Why not venture into the realm of high fidelity at 24bit-96kHz, and even push the envelope to 192kHz? Taking this chance, I mixed a project at the highest fidelity, and the result was nothing short of amazing! The track secured a prime spot in a global independent film, marking a milestone in my career as a professional audio mixing engineer.
This journey, which began with my parents credit card, has evolved into a mission to infuse every project with the highest fidelity magic. Today, as a studio sound engineer specializing in professional audio mixing and modern mixing techniques, my goal is to elevate every note and beat, bringing unparalleled sound quality to the forefront of the music industry.
