Baby

This song I wrote about my first born daughter, Cheyenne in 2004 and it’s demo production, with string section attracted the attention of a major label.

The little baby girl in the picture on the left is my other daughter Cameo who was with me the whole time this was being recorded in Glastonbury Studio 9. She was very good for the engineer, who has since become a daddy him self.

I am scoring the section in Sibelius 6 since having my systems converted to Mac and will be looking to record the strings with players from school orchestras to keep “Music alive in schools” and teaming up with professional principle players for a fantastic recording experience for everyone involved. (thats the idea)

This version was recorded in Glastonbury at studio 9 in 2012 and I had the opportunity to perform this at Venus Love Experience of the same year which received a very warm welcome by the audience.

I shrunk the song from the original to enable the whole piece to be performed whilst singing on piano when going out to perform on my keyboard, as I don’t have the orchestra with me all the time… Yet ;)

I also sped up the tempo and made some changes to the chordal progressions as my piano skills improved over time. I still prefer the original version with the key change to this one yet needed to test my own confidence when feeling ready to sing and perform again, So I gave Baby another lease of life to become an even greater production again and I’m glad I did or it may not have got the chance to grow and explore the great outdoors.
