    The Song of the Maruts in Italy. The Maruts are gods of different types of winds and clouds of the sky, in the ancient MahaBharata´s land mythology. This is a piece for Wind Orchestra. Is one of my Wave-Constellation compositions when it was in its development stage. Nice discoveries were made there and if you listen attentively you will get them. The composition of this one let me completely exhausted to the point of total disorientation when I finished and at the next day I woke up in a pitiful state which lasted some days.     Ten months! Yes, ten months –on a daily basis- I am working on this composition. I am somewhat fatigued. I am going to die. Yep. I just have one fear: to confront one of the universal authorities, immediately after my physical death, and to not be able to say I was working to the 100% with the abilities they gave me, namely this desire and capacity to compose. Because I am planning to ask another round to improve what I already accomplished. A new birth in a better society environment (maybe a higher planet where science and music are far better than here), with a better body (intelligence and senses) to improve my compositional tasks. (Will be Karlheinz Stockhausen there?) Can be music a tool for the improvement of human capacities? I believe so. It`s difficult to understand this when our society is pushing entertainment as the purpose of art, especially music. But from my esoteric practices and readings I understood this is not the only case music is meant to be. Not at all. There are higher dimensions. And the Vedas told us I cannot go in there unless my psychology is already trained to be there. Hopes. Hopes. And work! Anyway, please hear this definitive update of the 16th Constellation belonging to my Sarva Bijam Tad Aham (“Of all that exists know that I am the seed”). This constellation of sounds is 12 minutes long. I promise you a journey through some inner constellations of sound. Just put your headphones and stare a red flower vase while listening surrounded by complete silence and stillness. Ea! Haladhara Dasa PS: Now it´s time to compose the 18th constellation. It is dominated by Trumpet and Bassoon. The 16th was dominated by Flute (accompanied by Oboe, English Horn, Clarinet mainly) and Violoncello (accompanied by BassClarinet and BassTrombone mainly).     DISCIPLINE for a MELODIC COMPOSITION (2013) It is a collection composed in a week, for a college seminar to show how from short texts we design the rhythm, then the melody and from that we get the harmonies, the bass, the accompaniment and next the introductory, middle and conclusive setions of a whole instrumental composition.     "Amongst the stars I am the Moon", says Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. The analogy is that no matter how many stars there are in the nocturnal sky, when the full moon rises, it overcomes them in brilliance. This one was conceived for Vibraphone and Marimba but I wanted a sharper sound so I made this piano version where you hear clearly the rhyhtm and the intervals. This is a Wave-Constellation composition. "Entre las Estrellas Yo soy la Luna" cuyo título en sánscrito, es parte del Bhagavad Gita, cuando Krishna le declara a Arjuna que -en comparación de un cielo estrellado- la luna hace palidecer a las estrellas por más numerosas que sean en la noche. Esta versión en piano muestra muy claramente la sonoridad interválica de la pieza, mejor que en su versión original de Vibráfono y Marimba.     KAPILA is a WAVE-CONSTELLATION composition. His sketches are ready for a dissertation on compositional matters. Kapila is the name of the son of Devahuti, who was married to Kardama Muni. All they lived in the forest, Kardama being a powerful mystic yogi. When Kardama anounced his retirement from the mundane world to go back into spiritual practices, his wife Devahuti asked her son Kapila to teach her about the ultimate goal of life. Kapila was an incarnation of Krishna and stayed with her teaching about Sankhya Yoga, the yoga which discriminates between matter and spirit.     This is the 6th Constellation, from Bijam tad aham (“I am the seed”). This little piece (9 minutes) is scored for Oboe, English Horn, 2 Bassoons, 2 Trumpets, 2 Trombones, Harp, Piano, Violin and 2 Violas: 13 performers. It was composed starting from a pure rhythmic design. This design is repeated three times but –naturally- the rhythms become affected by different instrumental presentations: melodies (if such things exist here), harmonies and textures (arpeggios, repeated notes, trills,...) in each cycle. This results in a kaleidoscopic presentation of that rhythmic design. In the first cycle, for each pulse a particular instrument is assigned. In the second cycle two pulses are given. In the third cycle three pulses. That means the orchestra starts very "pointillistic" progressing towards a more linear -but not much- flow. Also, there are different groupings of instruments. Sometimes the 2 bassoons are paired with the oboe and English horn and sometimes the same 2 bassoons are paired with the 2 violas. Or the 2 trombones are paired with the 2 trumpets and later on these trombones get along the Harp and Piano. This way the timbrical quality in this work is always shifting. Lots of colours. I said melodies (if such things exist here) because in this composition I present a musical thinking based no longer in the old concept of melody supported by harmony or melody-against-melody (counterpoint). Nevertheless I use the basic concepts attached to those ideas. Rather, the intellectual/aesthetic concept here is of an orchestral organic unity. You can hear the 8th and next the 10th, for a larger experience; I strongly recommend that: the musical material of the 10th is somehow enhanced through that listening.     Computer Music. The rhythms were obtained through manipulations of a Cellular Automata. The use of filters provide its sonic quality, roughly. Generation 5 because 9 Generations is the whole thing; but Generation 5 proved to be independent enough to be heard separatedly. Use headphones or very good loudspeakers quality and very separated in distance. You´ll get good stereo effects all through. VAJRA means Thunderbolt in Sanskrit, but it also can be understood as Electricity. Krishna says that amongst weapons He is the thunderbolt of Indra (the king of heaven) indicating the extreme power He has. Being this work an electronic one I thought the name can apply. This updated (June 2014) version shows "parabollic" behavior in dynamics and timbre. By now I believe work on this piece is finished, it became more intense. So, the improvements made here will be applied in the next computer pieces -which were already published here, like SOUND.Nov.03.2011, the first of them next to appear-. Devahuti became afflicted -after a lifetime of enjoyment-thanks to her powerful husband, who created all types of wonderful amenities thanks to his psychic powers. She became conscious of her waste of time in amusements and when Kardama anounced his retirement into the forest for a life of seclusion, her son Kapila stayed to teach her how to discriminate between matter and spirit.
