Jasper Wu Animation Portfolio 12-23-23

Here's a quick portfolio update demonstrating some of my work as a gameplay animator, a cinematics animator, a vfx artist, rigging artist, and camera animator. The first few shots are 3D game animations for horror sprites with various jumpscares and kill animations. Following those is a demo if a custom transformation animation I did for the Transformer Bumblebee. The animation is made from scratch, and the rig is set up to be able to trigger the transformation using only one bone (the arrow moving down on the right). The third segment includes a snippet of animation I did for the Youtube Chanel Maxxz using a Roblox avatar. The face was rigged by me to animate using nodes and texture coordinate mapping. The fourth segment includes animations I did for my personal projects on my Youtube channel. I am responsible for writing, voice directing, animation, (most) vfx, and editing. Under the hood, I used drivers and python programming to create a seamless transition between the robot form, the mid-transformation meshes, and the car form. I did the animations myself. The robot mode is rigged with quick rig pro, and the alt-mode is rigged using rigacar. Here's a short reel of some of my 3D animations. For the first shot, I recreated the Discord loading screen in 3D from scratch. In the second scene, I did a special case of VFX using hand drawn 2D effects that I did myself. I also combined that with a cel-shaded 3D animation for this hyper-exaggerated cartoony feel. In the third shot, I did a Roblox animation with a childish character where I animated not only the body movements, but also the textures on the face. Finally, in the last shot, I wanted to end with an animation in which I told a story with mostly visuals, lighting, and blocking.…Here's a short reel of some of my 3D animations.
