Given the opportunity to live in Canada, The United States of America, as well as Ghana (Africa), his uncommon perspective allows for him to extract experiences from virtually all walks of life, incorporating from personal to even religious encounters within his writing. His passion for the art of Hip-Hop began at the age of 4, when the artist heard “My Name Is”, by Eminem, for the first time. In recent months, Trip J has also begun to take up piano as well, adding this to his progressing ability to play the drums, as well as the trumpet. In earlier years, keeping Eminem as a focal inspiration, Trip J began including various other artists to draw creative ideas from. Artists such as Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and 50 Cent, were held in high regard by the young rapper; however, as of late, Trip J has endeavored to embody specific traits from Drake, Andy Mineo, J. Cole, Chris Brown, Frank Ocean, and numerous other artists performing at the top of their respective levels. As a child, Trip J favored songs created by Eminem above all others, citing “The Eminem Show” as one of the albums that were the most influential in his life. Presently, the story is more or less the same, however, the artist now elevates the ranking of music generated by many of the aforementioned musicians, also noting that of Trip Lee and B.o.B. to be rather iconic as well. With his past and future releases, Trip J aspires to become one of the world’s leading musical artists, bringing a unique taste in stylistic rhyme schemes to the table that is, “The Rap Game”. In the past he has released the mixtapes, “I Am Young” (2012), and most recently, “The Address Book” (2013), with the latter receiving national recognition and radio play in certain cities. He currently has a number of EPs as well as a collaborative LP (G2:20) with affiliate, “ThaWitness”, to be released in the year to come.
