Electronic music composer, Producer. Stephen Matthew Weinman (TELEFRAME) was born in 1997 in New York City, and currently resides in Lambertville New Jersey.  Having been exposed to a wide range of music growing up, Stephen began to compose and produce his own music by age 14. With only the help of some YouTube video tutorials, Stephen quickly became fluent in the use of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and virtual instrument synthesis. Stephen had a little musical training in grade school, and studied casually, some guitar and music theory with his father. Notwithstanding Stephen's limited formal musical training, by age 16, it was clear that Stephen was much more than a casual music tinkerer, and by age 17, he had evolved into a formidable Electronica composer.   Stephen is a fan of and is inspired by a wide range of music, from 16th-century Renaissance lute music, to Kate Bush, Yes, The Beatles, and The Cocteau Twins, to Deadmau5, Skrillex, Daft Punk, and Com Truise. Although inspired by many, Stephen’s music is neither derivative nor stock. He tends to steer clear of the many clichéd and over-used presets, samples, and timbres that are so ubiquitous in today’s electronic music. Teleframe is an active, non-participator in the loudness wars. Stephen wants his music to have dynamics and shape. Stephen spends a great deal of time designing his sounds from scratch, using presets, loops and phrase samples only on occasion and very sparingly. Priding himself on originality in both composition and sound design, Stephen's goal is to use the gift of music to instil joy into the hearts of the widest audience possible. Stephen plans to expand his art to film and video-game scoring, and is also working on short-form content for use in other applications such as advertising, sample libraries, and internet based content.
