Formed in early 2012 The Broxton Hundred take their inspiration from various points on the musical compass including 1960’s pop, 1980’s electronica and the rebirth of guitar led indie music from the early 1990’s and have developed their own sound, psychedelic guitars over a loose and funky rhythm section making their songs instantly danceable. The Broxton Hundred have been featured on the Fred Perry SubCulture website as well as being championed as “New Artist Of The Day” on the Louder Than War website in August 2012. An impressive list of gigs since their formation including a support slot with Folks, successful appearances at both The North Descends and BWM festivals and a homecoming gig in Chester have helped them to refine their sound and on stage relationship. The Broxton Hundred released their debut EP Higher Surroundings in 2012 and has earned them many fans, selling out in the process, the follow up has been recorded and is scheduled for a 3rd quarter 2013 release. The Broxton Hundred are Richard Lucas on Bass and Vocals, Gary Yari-Gerrard on Guitar and backing vocals with Richard Ormond on Drums and backing vocals.
