Freelancer Spotlight: Raf Tad

I was a project manager in an IT company since I was 16. I was working closely with designers and developers to ensure a quality result. In my free time I was writing, recording music.

When I was 18, I went to mandatory military service for two years. Because of the lack of my guitar, I’ve started writing more, but it wasn’t enough to express myself. I’ve decided to animate my feelings, so I have started my first frame to frame animation “CONSCIOUS” after a year of military service and finished it the other year, it is only 2 minutes long. Animating at Military Unit seems something impossible. Every night I was going under the blanket and drawing frame to frame with my finger on the smartphone (smartphones were illegal in our military units). I was a soldier since early morning till the night but an animator at night. After a year when I finished my military service and animation, I understood that as I haven’t slept and was risking myself every night for a year for a 2 minute animation I have to become an animator.

Now I’m a full time freelance animator. Twine was a huge step for me, as I opened for my skills the global market. Now I have a lot of long term projects, because my clients are satisfied and always come back for more.
