My name is Joshua Marlowe. I’m a game developer and designer; I graduated from DigiPen: Institute of Technology with a degree in both game design and game engineering in April 2020, and most recently worked at American Gaming Systems (AGS) on their casino game development team. I love many aspects of creating games, but I primarily specialize in Unity game development with C#. During my studies at DigiPen, I created 12+ different solo projects in Unity—consisting of a variety of titles from a systems-heavy Animal Crossing-like to a more level design-oriented action game. Post-degree, I started working at AGS on their casino games and contributed to over 10 published titles. In addition, I’ve worked on a variety of game jam projects that only took over the span of a few days, frequently taking the role of lead programmer to ensure the work was completed by the tight deadline. In addition, I'm extremely passionate about game design. Over my coursework at DigiPen, I handled the design of my solo video game projects as well board game design projects. I constructed a number of different combat systems, including a conversion of Overwatch into a 3v3 board game, and an earlier game that utilized a deck of cards for combat. I also drove design elements in several team projects—ranging from level design in a puzzle-platformer to enemy AI behaviors in a combat-heavy action game. I continued my design experience into game jams, working cooperatively with other designers (or sometimes being the only designer on board) to make the games more fun.
