Lorienel Cruz was born and raised in the Philippines. She is currently based in Toronto, Canada. Cruz graduated from Seneca College's Animation program, majoring in 3D Animation. During her time in College, she learned all aspects of Traditional Animation, 2D Animation especially 3D Animation. Cruz is a 5-year Barista and 2-year Barista Trainer at Starbucks for the meantime while working on her skills at the same time. She takes interest in storytelling through painting –traditional and digital. She is strongly self-motivated but is also a flexible team player. She thrives in a supportive team environment doing what she is most passionate about. Cruz loves the feeling of constantly working on an animation piece and wanting to improve it as much as possible. The result of her hard work keeps her going. She constantly looks for opportunities that will help her grow as an animator. Cruz aims to work on TV feature shows but is also open to other opportunities. In the future, she would like to work on feature films but in order to get there, she has to start somewhere.
