Luiza Maldonado is a Brazilian actress and producer who performed in 25+ theatre productions, 16 short films and several TV productions, including telenovelas. She also directed visual art performances There is more future then past at Brazilian Embassy, Ackerstadt Palast and Kuringa Theater, Embryo at Neukölln 48, Dream Acting at Griessmühle and Um dia de chuva at FESTU, and worked as Bruce Gomlevsky’s Theatre Assistant Director in various productions. As a producer, she has been part of 20+ productions in the music and performing art field, some of them with low budgets and requiring to connect several different stakeholders to make them happen. Since 2017 Luiza lives in Berlin and supported by DAAD, ITI and Goethe Institut scholarship she was invited by Thomas Ostermeier to collaborate on Schaubühne’s “Italienische Nacht” as Regiehospitantin. Luiza has being developing her career, promoting the interchange between the German and Brazilian artistic scenes. She started her career very early at the age 9, with her first professional theatre role, and since then she has been alongside some of the most important directors in Brazilian and latin america scene. She holds a Bachelor degree in Theatrescience from Estacio University (2013). Since 2020, Luiza founded a Brazilian queer artistic community - Cena Berlim (cenaberlim.com) - focused on helping and exchanging with others artists in immigration. As a producer joined the Udk - Artistic Exile Program in the begging of 2020, which is preparing a performance. Always looking for networking, and exchange, Luiza is working on applying for funds and contests with her own projects, where she likes to combine theatre, cinema, music, fine arts and politics.
