    uniE613 Her
In the heart of Mid City Los Angeles, the essence of strength, grace, and style is embodied in many areas structured by the harmony of life from the individual to the foliage who celebrate in unity. This imagined figure is centered around the representation of the aforementioned facets, woven into a collective narrative of resilience and strength. Her expression, pose and energy is a communication of the vibrancy that is held, sharing an influential gaze of warmth and empowerment that shape stories of identity and nature.
    uniE613 Home
The figures stand in the middle of the street, draped in Western, Eastern, and Southern African regalia and clothing. They are in the midst of stripping away the "European mindset" or the "mindset of the colonizer," replacing it with an African body of principles and value systems. The fabrics connote ancestral roots-Kuba cloth from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and textiles from Samburu, Kenya; Lagos, Nigeria; and Windhoek, Namibia. The dog stands nearby for protection, a reference to the hyenas trained by the 'Gadawan Kura' of Nigeria (Hyena Handlers of Nigeria).
    uniE613 I Live In Music
The title of the book, I Live In Music by Ntozake Shange consists of poems that are joined by collage works by Romare Bearden. The quote at the top is a homage to the book which presented a prominent figure such as Bearden within the Harlem Renaissance Movement that was introduced to Noah at a young age. The early exposure of this movement was an inspiration for the color palette and subject matter Noah delves into during the course of his artistic journey. This piece all comes together as moments of youth, growth, and gratefulness in life.
    uniE613 Malcolm
This piece represents the prominent moments in Malcolm X’s life when he embarked on a spiritual journey where he visited (flags pictured under the portraits) Ghana, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Lebanon, Algeria, Nigeria, Sudan, Syria, Senegal, Kenya, and Tanganyika (present-day Tanzania) and after visiting Mecca (the holy city of Islam) did he realize the significance of abandoning separatism and studying true Islam. It was during this revelation he believed that all backgrounds of man and ethnicities could gather for worship, converse, and exist without any racial antagonism. The two men pictured on each side of Malcolm are Pio Gama Pinto (left) and Marcus Garvey (right). Pio Gama Pinto was an integral part of what shifted Malcolm X’s thinking from Black Nationalism to Pan-African, for who Marcus Garvey is a prominent figure. Malcolm and Gama Pinto realized the United States and Kenya as well as countries all over Africa shared the same racism amongst one another and had plans of bringing change of these issues to the United Nations. Unfortunately, they did not live to approach such measures as both men were murdered just 3 days apart. Malcolm on February 21, 1965, and Pio Gama on February 24, 1965. The quote at the bottom speaks on the plight of the people of African descent living in America/the West and their viewing of the African born and living in Africa and gaining inspiration towards the sense that both are fighting for their position of worth and equality within each of their governed lands.
    uniE613 Untitled 01
This piece is part of a two-painting series as the single figure wears an expression that holds a tapestry of solitude combined with moments of various interpretations. He presents a sense of introspection, a quiet strength that resonates through the subtle play of shadows and highlights on the face acting as both the guardian and observer, witnessing the viewer and world with a depth of experience that transcends the visual. #illustrator #artist
    uniE613 Together
This project aimed to enable 70+ creatives from around the world to create things such as drawings, paintings, music, custom Shoes, sculptures, video edits, skate spots, animations, surfboards, etc. These pieces were documented during its process of creation where they exist as an ad for Vans’ Brand Campaign tagged with the slogan “This Portrait Is An Ad For Creativity.” Noah painted a portrait where he borrowed remnants of a previous piece he painted around the time of the Black Lives Matter movement and protests that mirrored those events through his visual vocabulary. #resume #illustrator #artist
    uniE613 The Giving
The Giving is an expression of honor, gratitude, and fondness for the essential nature of women. The provenance of the imagined female subject are remnants of women existing in actuality that become a catalyst for Humes' creative approach and vernacular. The subject's defiant and regal vitality lives beyond the canvas. Her gaze initially demands attention from the viewer, allowing a survey of the environment that encompasses her that concludes with the inceptive encounter. The foliage, flowers, and fruit represent forms of life serving as the necessary permanent act of giving women their flowers while they can smell them.
    uniE613 Maurice: Apple Tower Theatre
15 LA-based artists were selected to do a portrait of figures who are a source of inspiration to the creative community in Los Angeles. Apple Tower Theatre is Apple’s newest Los Angeles store located in Downtown Los Angeles. Each artist executed their portraits digitally using the Apple iPad Pro with the Apple Pen through Procreate. The portraits came together in unison and to life in on a mural on the side of the building to celebrate the Los Angeles’ artistic community and how it still prevails after a year like 2020.
    uniE613 The Foundation
The Foundation is centered around divine femininity, four women are draped with colorful and eloquent clothing and have a constant demand for the viewer’s attention. They stand in their bold poses and retain levels of dense power and prominent vivacity.
    uniE613 Mid City
Born and raised in Mid City Los Angeles, Noah painted this piece with facets of his hometown. The red-crowned parrots that roam the skies of Mid City are pictured here with showcasing fun spirited attitude and jovial energy. The figure centered in the middle is imagined but also speaks of highlights and memories of individuals Noah once previously crossed paths with in reality. He sports a Mid City tattoo as another part of homage paid to the place he titles home where it is significantly where the heart is.
    uniE613 The Right Colors
This piece holds a personal and sentimental value to Noah as it reflects on his relationship with both his maternal and paternal grandfathers who were both adamant on the significance of understanding the history of African and African American ancestral roots and culture. The imagined father and son represent the deep reverence and admiration that Noah holds for both of his grandfathers. The ball that the child is holding sports the colors of the Pan-African Flag, whose movement aims to hearten and strengthen the unity between native and African ancestral diasporas.
