Character Designer is needed in United States.

2D Illustrator / Character Concept Artist wanted to join Sup - a community crafted sci-fantasy universe. They experiment with blockchains and other new technologies, introducing novel mechanics on top of them to create entirely new kinds of settings, characters, stories, and experiences that are supported by their rapidly growing community.

Sup was co-founded by Dom Hofmann, the founder of Vine (as well as Blitmap and Loot, two of the most notable projects in the space), and Chris Supino, a veteran game producer and designer. They recently raised a $12M seed round led by Paradigm.

This client is working on a new IP and needs your help to bring it to life. You will work directly with the creative leadership team to ideate and produce production-quality characters. Although this role will be heavily focused on characters, they are also interested in tangential visual exploration tied to world-building as they discover more and more about the IP.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Photoshop
  • Able to execute production-level character illustrations in a designated style.
  • Must be able to paint/sketch ideas quickly in a high turnaround environment.
  • Excellent 2D drawing and painting skills with a strong grasp of composition, color theory, perspective, lighting, and form rendering.
  • Anatomical knowledge.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to meet industry standard level of art.

Compensation: $45/hr minimum. Rate is negotiable.

Sup is an equal-opportunity employer. They are committed to creating an inclusive environment for their team that supports their work and the community and customers they build for.
