Contract: Temporary / Part Time

Responsibilities:

Multimedia Production

  • Maintain multimedia production value of Northeastern’s online courses in recording and post-production deliverables.
  • Produce and edit recordings of all remote live sessions in an organized and cohesive manner.
  • Identify areas of improvement for Faculty in their remote live sessions.
  • Envision and implement innovative ways in which students and Faculty can connect in a remote classroom environment.

Studio Management

  • Assist in studio management, maintenance, and production.
  • Provide perspective on best camera locations and tactics to maximize the use of the studio space.
  • Regularly move, adjust, and operate camera, lighting and sound equipment while directing Faculty and Staff in studio for their on-camera work.

Qualifications:

  • Experience building, producing, and directing recorded and live studio productions.
  • Proficient in advanced Adobe editing applications such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc.
  • Familiarity/understanding of live, video platforms: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, Riverside.fm.
  • Familiarity/understanding of various CMS/video hosting platforms: Canvas, Panopto.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach on-camera talent who are approaching this work for the first time.
  • Experience managing complex live projects from pre-production design to post-production deliverables. Ability to identify and eliminate obstacles to a successful production, anticipate and solve problems. Incorporates creative and high production quality while maintaining efficiency.
  • Has a director’s eye and can contribute to studio look, feel, and design.
  • Ability to interact with faculty and staff in a sensitive manner, maintaining positive relationships and building consensus.
  • Work effectively in a remote environment when necessary.
  • Maintain overall production quality of courses while they are in session with the ability to produce high quality recordings and faculty video on a weekly basis.
  • Knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree ideally in video production or a creative liberal arts degree.
  • Four to six years’ experience in live video production strongly preferred.
