Job Description:

We are looking for 10 enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals in the Manchester area to collect images of obstacles for an AI device that will be used by the blind. The AI device will use these images to indicate something in their way, making it easier for the visually impaired to navigate safely and independently.

Responsibilities:

• Collect 40 high-quality images of each of the 29 different obstacle classes (such as curbs, steps, chairs, and trees) using an Intel RealSense D455 Depth Module camera provided by the company. - An estimated total of 10,000 images.
• Ensure that the images are taken, in different lighting conditions and with different backgrounds.
• Provide 10 angles of each obstacle you capture
• Upload the images to our database, ensuring they are labelled correctly and organized by obstacle class.

Requirements:

• Must have an Android or Windows smartphone or tablet to connect to the specialist camera.
• Must have a power pack to keep the battery life of the camera and your device full while you travel around (cables and splitters will be provided).
• Living in or around the Manchester area.
• Basic understanding of photography and basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Availability to work on this collection for a maximum of 8 days (over a 2-week period)
• Own transportation to travel to different locations around Manchester.
