WEB & GRAPHICS DESIGNER

Location: 100% Remote (must be LOCAL to DC MD VA metro area)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

PAY RATE MAX IS: $25/hr W-2

ALTA IT Services is looking for a talented person to update the content for our Client’s Portal website, main website, as well as other websites. The ideal candidate should have experience in coding and using a content management system, be able to escalate server and editor issues with the portal, as well as availability and code issues to the IT Department. The contractor will also have working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), including keyword research, and skills in oral and written communication and graphic design. Knowledge of the health and human services sector would be beneficial.

Technical Requirements:

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills.
  • Proven web design/development experience.
  • Proficient in writing and updating HTML and CSS code (vs using the WYSIWYG editor view).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and JavaScript.
  • Working experience with User Centered Design and Web Responsive Design software, such as Frontend or Bootstrap.
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
  • Up-to-date skills with the latest web trends, techniques, and technologies including animation, multimedia design, and video and audio.
  • Understanding of the coding and software used in the Client’s responsive design template.
  • Must be skilled at relationship building and can communicate and interact effectively.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and update web pages for Client’s websites particularly ones that relate to Case Management System Client Portal.
  • Provide analytics reports to the Client to help drive viewership and review feedback to improve the usability and functionality of the websites.
  • Develop new web services and features to enhance the look, feel, and overall customer satisfaction with the web and social media presence.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Writing and editing content; selecting and editing photographs for inclusion.

Preferred:

  • Administering social media and/or cloud applications platforms specifically GovDelivery, Google Analytics, Trumba Calendar, Wufoo systems, SeamLessDocs to include account and access management.
