Job Summary
The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at CU Boulder welcomes applications for a temporary Web Developer! The Developer will be tasked with an overall organizational and content update to the Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program’s existing web presence.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Ensures that the EMP website is an effective, strategic tool for communication and marketing efforts.
- With guidance of the Marketing Manager, develops and leads internal Requirements Gathering and Definition process, working with internal partners of 5-7 internal customers, promoting simplicity and minimalism.
- Develops and maintains Wireframe prototypes and an overall Sitemap.
- Recommends, builds and tests graphic and User Interface/navigation/Menu System redesign.
- Designs and tests the site to reflect the best processes in the areas of:
- Functionality across common operating systems, browsers and device categories (PC/Tablet/Smartphone).
- Search Engine Optimization.
- Responsive design/ page loading speed.
- Analytics outputs, particularly in respect to Google GA4.
- Visual hierarchy to direct visitors to most important components of pages.
- Accessibility performance and compliance.
- Coordinates with Marketing Manager to create consistent voice across all copy.
- Coordinates with Strategic Communications team to maintain consistency with University web layout and graphic standards and accessibility requirements.
- Performs basic usability testing via standard tools and coordinates user testing.
- Develops a checklist of ongoing site maintenance activities with suggested intervals.
- Documents work and resulting Web presence to support future updates.
What You Should Know
This is a temporary position, working primarily remotely but may need to come on site once per week.
The expectation is to have the website completed within 6 months, working 15 hours per week, though the employee is welcome to work up to 40 hours per week and have the website completed sooner.
What We Can Offer
The range for this position is $25.00 - $36.54 per hour.
What We Require
- Bachelor’s Degree in Web Development, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or closely related field. Appropriate experience can substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
What You Will Need
- Demonstrated technical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional level knowledge of industry-standard practices and tools.
- Experience with two or more WordPress, Joomla or Drupal-based CMS environments creating custom pages and designs.
- Ability to develop and test responsive websites.
- Facility with MS Office.
- Firm grasp of good user interface, site architecture and usability.
- Good eye for graphic design.
- Ability to analyze and propose solutions to problems.
- Firm grasp of web content and SEO best-practices.
- Multitasking & Time Management skills.
- Highly communicative with the ability to coordinate among internal customers.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and consistency.
- Self-motivated with good work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
