The Parliament of the World’s Religions is the host of the world’s largest, most diverse, and inclusive interfaith convenings. The 9th Global Convening of the Parliament of the World’s Religions will take place on August 14-18, 2023, returning to the United States and the birthplace of the modern interfaith movement, Chicago.
Position: Social Media Marketing Associate
Reports to: Director of Communications
Work Schedule: 20-hour part-time temporary position until end of August 2023
Responsibilities:
- In partnership with the Director of Communications, draft and design marketing materials like social media posts, reels, and videos for diverse audiences
- Manage social media calendar and develop content to boost conference attendance
- Provide analytical reporting of marketing campaigns and determine best practices
- Audit the Parliament’s existing social media channels and implement marketing campaigns for the organic promotion of the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions
- Conduct research to identify and analyze comparative conferences and successful marketing strategies that can be implemented in the marketing of the 2023 Parliament Convening
- Assist on assigned projects that support the Parliament’s communication and marketing efforts in a variety of marketing channels
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- 1-2 years of professional social media marketing experience
- 1-2 years of graphic design and video editing experience
- Strong social media skills on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Experience in paid social media promotions and campaigns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to self-manage multiple tasks at one time
- Cultural competency and diversity training a plus
- Marketing data experience a plus
Computer Skills:
Proficient in the use of graphic design and video editing software; proficient with Google Workspace
